I haven’t written down my bio before, so this is a work in progress. I guess I would start with my life mission to move humanity forward. I believe in humanity, our collective need to improve the quality of life for the billions of people on earth. Everything I have done in my life has been for that pursuit.
In grade school, I spent a lot of time with the homeless, surveying them to find solutions to their situation, at homeless shelters and soup kitchens.
In middle school I was president of the student body, in high school I was president of my junior and senior class. I was top 10 in GPA. 5th in the State of Arizona for pole vaulting. My senior year I won the Tucson Student Service Award of all Tucson high school students. I also served on the City of Tucson’s Human Relations Commission, promoting equity in the city. I served on the committee for three years and became the youngest Chairman of the committee my final year.
I grew up in Tucson, and attended the University of Arizona for business marketing. During my freshman year, I was the co-Chair of the Vice Mayor of Tucson’s successful re-election campaign (Karin Uhlich). I was also appointed to a Tucson Ward 1 youth committee allocating funds to nonprofits under then City Council member Regina Romero, now Mayor of Tucson.
After undergrad, I attended the University of Arizona Law School, where I served on the UofA Supreme Court, and was the research assistant to a law school professor, Leslye Obiora, the former Minister of Mines and Metals for Nigeria, where I worked on numerous international projects including being the lead coordinator for the Institute for Research on African Women, Children and Culture.
For my 3rd year of law school, I was the first UofA law student to attend a foreign university to earn a joint degree. This was in 2014. I attended Tsinghua University in Beijing (China’s #1 University. In the 3 years of law school I was able to earn a J.D. from the UofA and an LL.M (masters) in Chinese Law from Tsinghua University. At Tsinghua, I was valedictorian and a member of Law Review and Moot Court, as well as an athlete on the University’s flag football team (sponsored by the NFL).
After graduating, I stayed in China to participate in an unprecedented opportunity to work inside a municipal Chinese government Bureau of Commerce as a foreigner. The Financial Times covered this here: https://www.ft.com/content/
To my knowledge I was the first American to work for a Chinese local government, where I engaged and supported multinational corporations in their China operations for the City of Foshan in Guangdong province.
After one year with the Chinese government, I accepted the position of Director of New Projects for LehmanBush, a private equity investment consulting company based in Beijing that was founded by Edward Lehman (longest serving American attorney in China) and Neil Bush (the younger brother of President George Bush). During my time at LehmanBush, I worked on nation building in East Timor, the 2nd youngest country in the world. I helped their national government to become a member state of the World Intellectual Property Organization and become a contracting state to the New York Convention on Foreign Arbitral Awards, both these achievements helped the young nation on the world stage.
After spending a total of 3 years in China, I moved back to the US to take the California bar exam, which I successfully passed in addition to the Moral Character and Ethics inspection to become a licensed California attorney.
My current focus is on developing an exciting and novel new form of mobility. I have the opportunity to work with my family in commercializing a new form of mobility that can change the way people get around in our densest communities around the world!
I am my own boss, work with my family, build with my hands, and can help move humanity forward both literally and figuratively. Life is short, we must make the most of it.
In my free time I play guitar, I love riding my electric skateboard through cities, I love to travel, cook delicious food. All of these hobbies enhance my quality of life.
